We’re living in a time where the only measure of one’s success is Materialistic Gains. Owing to this phenomenon, everyone is curious about wealth accumulation prospects in their horoscope. Majority of the people who approach me have Wealth Creation prospects as the first thing on their minds. However, lately, I have seen a sudden surge in the number of people inquiring about their HORA Charts. Since this is not possible to honor each request individually, I am writing down simple steps to read a HORA chart.

These steps are meant for astrology enthusiasts and complete beginners. After reading this post, you may not be able to read your HORA chart in its entirety, but you’ll be able to draw meaningful inferences.

Note: D1 or Lagna chart is the primary indicator of wealth prospects in a chart. One should look at the D1 or Lagna Chart first and then confirm the findings of the D1 chart in the HORA chart.

What is the HORA chart in Vedic Astrology?

HORA is a divisional chart, and it is analyzed to take a magnified look at the wealth creation prospects of a native. There are two things that separate a HORA chart from other divisional charts.

1. The ascendant of a HORA chart is always either CANCER or LEO.

2. All the planets occupy the sign of Cancer or Leo or both.

Reading a HORA Chart:

1. Male Planets occupying the sign of LEO is a positive. (SUN, MARS, and JUPITER)

2. Female planets occupying the sign of CANCER is a positive. (Moon and Venus)

3. Five or more planets occupying the sign of CANCER is a positive.

4. Five or more planets occupying the sign of LEO is a negative.

5. Lord of 2nd house of your D1/Lagna Chart, deposited in the 2nd or 1st house of HORA chart is a positive.

6. Lord of 2nd house of your D1/Lagna Chart, deposited in 12th house of HORA chart is a negative.

7. Lord of the 2nd house of your HORA chart, deposited in the 1st, 5th, 8th, and 12th houses of your HORA chart is a negative.

8. Lord of 2nd house of your HORA chart, deposited in the 2nd and 11th houses of your HORA chart is a positive.

9. Many or all planets deposited in the 12th house of your HORA chart is a negative.

10. Many or all planets deposited in the 2nd or 1st house of your HORA chart is a positive.

Conclusion:

Apply the conditions I have mentioned above and count the Positive/Negatives that you receive. You can use the following metrics to draw some inferences.

High Number of Positives: Excellent Wealth Accumulation Prospects

High Number of Negatives: Poor Wealth Accumulation Prospects

Equal Number of Positives and Negatives: Average Wealth Accumulation Prospects.

I hope this post helps you make sense of your own HORA charts. Please leave your feedback, suggestions, or questions in the comments.
